The Northern California Rugby Referee Society is a non-profit corporation dedicated to improving the level of rugby in Northern California and through out the United States.

NCRFURS Articles & By-Laws

Provide Rugby Referees. We provide Rugby USA certified referees to games and tournaments throughout northern California and Nevada, from Fresno to Arcata to Reno.

Conduct Courses and Clinics. We conduct iRB Level 1 and 2 Referee, Touch Judge and Assistant Referee, and Coaching Match Officials courses and conduct clinics open to all referees, coaches, players, and interested people.

Exchange Referees. We exchange referees with other areas, including Southern California, Pacific Northwest, Victoria BC, Eastern Rockies, New England, and East Midlands England.

The Society’s motto literally means “always with good birds”. But idiomatically it translates “always under favorable auspices”. Romans thought it well to enter contests when good birds were about. What better is there than to always start a rugby match with a good bird from the Pelicus flock on the pitch?
